MI40 is split into 8 components. In the beginning, I learned how to create greater tension in my muscles when training. Sounds simple, but until I had it laid out for me, I didn’t realize that there was way more to “tension” than lifting with correct form.
I learned how long it takes to achieve benefits and why this particular duration actually helps create new “pathways” that make muscles work more efficiently and completely.
Much to my embarrassment, I discovered that my range of motion (prior to MI40) was off and getting in the way of progress.
As I continued to work through the material in MI40, I came to understand that my previous “workout diet” could do with some fine tuning. The nutrition component of MI40 explains exactly what to eat, when to eat it, and just as importantly, why (because nobody likes being told, “Here, do this,” without being given a reason).
Some of the information was a bit overwhelming – there’s a lot to take in – but the “calculators” helped me understand exactly what I should eat, how much and when (I thought I had nutrition nailed before I read MI40).
The Top 40 list of good foods and the helpful reminders of foods to stay away from is a nice addition. Eating this way has become second nature to me – the short learning curve was well worth it.
The supplementation protocol is awesome! I’d never used some of the supplements recommended in Ben’s MI40 program, but the science behind them was compelling, and the advantages so outstanding, that I don’t think I’ll go without them again.

(That being said, if someone learns better from still-images and reading, the photos and descriptions in the course are very well done, too, showing starting and finishing positions for each exercise and easy to read key points; I happen to learn best from videos, but it comes down to the individual).
Remember how I mentioned supplements? Another component of MI40 goes even more in depth than in the beginning of the guide and reveals a protocol focused on reducing inflammation. I learned that this matters because too much inflammation hinders the results from working out and slows you down before the next session.
There’s a difference between “feeling the burn” and “being burned by the feeling”. Ben’s protocol has really helped me keep feeling healthy, ready to move and injury-free.
MI40 finishes up with a really informative series of audio interviews in which Ben gathers what he calls “under-the-radar” information from other trainers (which I completely agree with), as well as therapists and doctors.
I like to listen to it post-workout; while my body is recovering, my mind is already churning with the possibilities of how to take my body to the next level.
